Le Gruyere AOC 1655

In stock

This outstanding version of Switzerland's most ubiquitous cheese shines as an example of farmstead, tradtional Gruyere.

This traditional Gruyere from Switzerland comes from Fromagerie Le Cret and recently was awarded the highest number of points of any Swizz cheese at the World Cheese Awards. The wheels are aged up to 17 months and is submitted to meticulous testing before receiving the 1655 label, distinguishing it from inferior Gruyeres. Made on the small Le Cret dairy in Switzerland, the paste is firm and nutty, with savory tones that linger on the palate. It's a delightful component to any cheese plate, but is also beautiful when melted, used fondu, or on a ham and cheese sandwich.
